Need a place to cool off this summer? Whether you’re looking for thrilling water slides, a relaxing splash pad, or a simple pool to cool off in, the Denver metro area has plenty of family-friendly pools. We rounded up some of our favorite pools across the south, north, east, and west sides of town to help you plan your next adventure!

South Denver Pools

Columbine West Pool

7046 S. Webster Street Littleton, CO 80128

Located in Littleton, this pool is a great option for all ages. Including a zero-depth entry, children’s play structure with a tot slide, your toddler will be fully entertained. Your older ones can enjoy a drop slide and big pool including a net for water volleyball. This is a great local, low key option to guarantee to wear out the kids.

Pirates Cove Water Park

1225 W Belleview Ave, Littleton, CO 80120

A longtime family favorite in Littleton, Pirates Cove feels like a mini water park without the huge price tag. Families can float the lazy river, race down slides, splash in the spray garden, and enjoy shaded picnic areas throughout the park. This is one of the best spots for kids of all ages but includes adult only nights if you’re looking for a fun date night.

North Denver Pools

Water World

8801 N Pecos St, Federal Heights, CO 80260

If your family is looking for an all-day adventure, Water World is hard to beat. One of the largest water parks in the country, it features dozens of attractions ranging from toddler play areas to massive family raft rides and thrill slides. Bonus: families can bring their own picnic food, making it easier on the budget.

Apex Center

13150 W 72nd Ave, Arvada, CO 80005

Apex Center in Arvada is one of the best indoor pool options in the Denver metro area, especially for families looking for year-round water fun. The massive indoor water park includes tube and body slides, a lazy river-style vortex pool, a zero-depth entry play area with fountains and geysers, lap lanes, and both family and adult hot tubs. Beyond the pools, families also love the indoor playground and splash pad, making it an easy spot to spend an entire day with kids of all ages. We had my daughters 3rd birthday party here and would give it a 10/10 for entertainment.

East Denver Pools

Del Mar Family Aquatic Center

12000 E 6th Ave, Aurora, CO 80001

This Aurora aquatic center is packed with family fun, including slides, splash areas, and plenty of room for kids to swim and play. It can get busy during peak summer weekends, but families love the energetic atmosphere and kid-friendly features.

Congress Park Outdoor Pool

850 Josephine St, Denver, CO 80206

Located in one of Denver’s most beloved neighborhoods, Congress Park Pool offers a classic summer pool experience. The recently updated pool includes space for lap swimming, family swim time, and shallow play areas for younger children. The surrounding park also makes it perfect for an easy picnic-and-pool day combo.

West Denver Pools

The Splash at Fossil Trace

3151 Illinois St, Golden, CO 80401

Golden families love this outdoor aquatic center for its fun slides, zero-depth entry pool, and relaxed atmosphere with mountain views nearby. It’s an ideal destination for younger kids and elementary-aged swimmers looking for a full afternoon of fun.

Barnum Park Outdoor Pool

370 Hooker St, Denver, CO 80219

This neighborhood pool offers a simple and affordable way to cool off during hot Denver afternoons. Families appreciate the open swim times and laid-back environment, making it a great option for a quick weekday pool outing.

Before You Go

Pool hours, admission prices, and seasonal openings can change throughout the summer, so make sure to check each pool’s website before heading out. Many public outdoor pools in the Denver area typically open around Memorial Day and close by mid-to-late August depending on staffing and weather.
