There is nothing like the feeling of clearing out a closet or bathroom cabinet and things you haven’t used in years. Whether you’re getting rid of clothes, art supplies, house renovation supplies or furniture, Denver organizations are ready to take items off your hands.

Places to Donate Your Stuff in the Denver Area

Denver Rescue Mission

The Denver Rescue Mission serves individuals and families transitioning into small apartments and prioritize items that are not in need of repair. Most needed items include furniture including dressers, small tables, couches, chairs and loveseats, like-new mattresses, small bookshelves, small kitchen appliances, lamps, and clothing.They also accept unexpired, non-perishable food and unopened hygiene items. Donations are accepted Monday thru Friday, 8:30 a.m – 5 p.m. at the Outreach Center.

Delores Project

The Delores Project serves women, transgender men and women and nonbinary individuals that stay in the shelter and participate in a rehousing program. They only accept items are their must-need list (updated on their website). Please donate all gender inclusive items.

Habitat ReStore

Habitat for Humanity Metro Denver builds and sells homes in need of affordable housing. Your donations can help furnish those homes as well as resell to community members who might be able to re-use them. There is an extensive list of needs online, but include furniture, appliances, flooring, cabinets, electrical items, lumber, mirror and more.

Dress for Success

Dress for Success provides at-risk women with job readiness tools, professional attire and employment support. Donate your professional attire. Clothes should be clean, on hangars and purchased in hte last give years. Boxes of clothes are not accepted. Clothing donations are currently paused while the organization moves into a new space.

Denver ReCreative

ReCreative takes materials going to the landfill by collecting and redistributing them for art, education and inspiration. Donations are only by appointment. Accepted materials include used arts and crafts materials, toys, costumes, paper, office supplies and more. 

Bella Boutique

Bella Boutique provides free prom dress, jewelry and accessories to teenagers. Donate your prom jewelry, formal shoes, handbags, hair accessories, undergarments as well as evening wear including cocktail dresses, bridesmaids dresses and prom gowns in all sizes.

Bienvenidos Food Bank

Help replenish the Bienvenidos Food Bank with both nonperishable and perishable food. Fruit and vegetable donations are accepted Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Check online for most needed items but always helpful include cooking oil and hearty soups.

Goodwill Donation Center

Goodwill of Colorado accepts donations at 42 retail thrift stores and 10 donation centers. Accepted materials include books, electronics (no TVs), decor, furniture, clothes, appliances, crafting supplies, sporting goods, pet supplies and more.

Well Power

Well Power is an adult resource center that provides food, clothing, hygiene products and more to their clients. Each center has a list of current high need items online.

Arc Thrift Stores 

Arc serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Arc accepts most items including clothing, shoes, books, toys, kitchen items, furniture, decor, and household items. Donations are accepted at arc store locations. Pick up is available for large furniture donations only.
