Earth Day Party (April 15)
Denver Public Library – Green Valley Ranch
Celebrate our home planet with an Earth Day party at Green Valley Ranch Branch! We’ll create STEM challenges with recycled materials, do upcycled crafts, learn about seeds and all the things that make earth beautiful. Ideal for families with children ages 5-12, all are welcome. Celebrate Earth Day while exploring the garden and enjoy the beauty of nature. Plant seeds in an ecofriendly planting container.
- Ages 3-6 years: Wednesday, April 19, 9:15 a.m., 10:30 a.m. or 1 p.m.
- Ages 24-36 months: Thursday, April 20, 9:15 a.m. or 10:30 a.m.
- Ages 18-24 months: Friday, April 21, 9:15 a.m. or 10:30 a.m.
Seedlings classes offer a fun, hands-on way for young children to explore the plant world while developing an understanding and appreciation for plants and their importance. Earth Day Celebration and Seed Swap (April 22)
Get ready for the growing season with a community seed swap and Earth Day activities for all ages, including bilingual eco-themed story time! If you have extra seeds, bring them to share with your neighbors, but seed donations are not required to join the fun. This event takes place outside the Broomfield Library. Learn more.
Earth Day Festival (April 22)
Castle Rock
Everyone in Castle Rock is invited to join their friends and neighbors from noon to 3 p.m. for an Earth Day festival. Come to Festival Park to mark the day and learn more about environmental conservation. You’ll find educational information from local nonprofits, crafts, demonstrations, vendors featuring upcycled goods, music and food trucks. It will be a day to act, learn and enjoy. Learn more.

Community Cleanup and Party (April 22)

Mother Earth is always in need of some more love. Join us in cleaning up a trail in downtown Denver in honor of Earth Day! At this cleanup, we will meet outside the REI Starbucks where our trail cleanup adventure begins. Put on your silent disco headphones to dance to sublime beats while we walk together down the South Platte River trail. At19th street we will cross over to Commons Park to beautify the open space by picking up litter. In the park, we will celebrate together with a picnic, open-air dance party and closing meditation. Your host will provide: RUNA drinks, garbage bags, and silent disco headphones. Please bring your own gloves, picnic, water bottle and any other tools you’d like to use for the community cleanup. Louisville Open Space
Join City of Louisville Open Space staff digging up non-native plants to help reduce their impact on native ecosystems and distribute native seed throughout disturbed areas to minimize re-establishment of weeds. Volunteers needed! Join us to help with native grass planting and watercress removal at Festival Park and along Sellars Gulch. Tools and gloves will be provided. This conservation project is perfect for scout groups working on their conservation badges! Registration is required.

Meet other LoDo community members and beautify our waterway, community playground and public gardens. Meet at 9 a.m. at the Rothman Children’s Playground. A light breakfast, water, and all necessary equipment for you and your group will be provided. All you have to do is show up!
