Tips for Taking Your Family to Monster Jam

0

The roar of the engines, the sight of the mammoth tires, the flinging of dirt in the air; the culmination of these three things can only mean one thing, Monster Jam is about to go down! The trucks return to Denver May 13-14 at Empower Field at Mile High.

Marketed toward families, the show knows how to appeal to truck loving, adrenaline junkie children! Audience interaction, opportunities to see the trucks up close and personal and wild stunts performed throughout the competition inevitably turns the young audience members into bonafide fans.

Typically there are three separate competitions, beginning with a race around the track, followed by a two wheeled competition and freestyle. The trucks, however, are only one component of the event. Crazy stunts by fan favorites Grave Digger, El Toro Loco and Megalodon keep audiences enthralled, while driver interviews afterward keep the kids anxious to see the next run. An intermission motocross, ATV or equivalent exhibition will have parents covering their eyes in fear and children jumping up and down in eagerness to grow up and do the same.

Prior to the show, guests can upgrade tickets to attend the Pit Party, which includes the opportunity to meet and speak with drivers, purchase fun merchandise, view the massive trucks up close, play in a sandpit and additional rotating activities. For my three vehicle loving boys, seeing the drivers and trucks up close made the event much more exciting. They immediately picked their favorites and became invested in their performance during the show.

If this all sounds like something that would get your kids pumped, here’s a few tips for ensuring a successful Monster Jam outing for the entire family.

  • The event is LOUD. Bring ear protection for everyone. This is an affordable, noise canceling set for kids.
