Nestled in the heart of downtown, this unique attraction captivates both young and old with its mind-bending exhibits and interactive optical illusions. It’s the perfect blend of education and entertainment, offering a chance to explore the science behind visual perception in a fun and engaging way. From rooms that defy gravity to installations that play tricks on your mind, every corner of the museum sparks curiosity and encourages laughter. Whether you’re seeking a break from the ordinary or hoping to inspire your little ones with the magic of science, the Museum of Illusions is a delightful choice for a day of exploration in Denver.

What Kids Will Love at Museum of Illusions

Kids will love interacting with each exhibit! Every exhibit has an area to explore, take pictures, touch and read about the science behind the illusion. My girls had so much fun taking photos and then looking at the optical illusion they had created. It was magical to see their faces when they looked at the multiple mirror images of themselves and when my daughter looked like she was hanging upside down. My 7 year old’s favorite was the Vortex Tunnel — she went through several times and was amazed.

What Moms Will Love

The Museum of Illusions is easily walkable and fun for kids of every age. Finding an activity that entertains children of a wide age range can be tricky, and the Museum of Illusions did just that. It was also interesting to learn the science behind the exhibits and how the illusions work. Some of us may remember the optical illusion books from our younger years and being reintroduced to them in a new and exciting way was lots of fun!

Stroller and Wheelchair Accessibility

The Museum is one level and the hallways were wide which was nice. There are a few rooms with slanted floors.

Elizabeth Schnakenberg
Hi! I’m Elizabeth. I grew up in Overland Park, Kansas and have been living in Colorado for almost 10 years. I met my husband in Denver and we have two wonderful daughters. My oldest is 6 and my youngest is 17 months. I am a former preschool teacher turned health insurance broker. I do my best to juggle kid activities, two kitties and our dog and everything in between. I love the outdoors and being close to the mountains. Our family is slowly checking visiting National Parks off our list and hoping to instill a love and respect for nature in our children. I enjoy reading, indulging in Italian food, spending time with friends and family and trying to improve my disc golf skills. I’m looking forward to connecting with more Colorado mamas!
