Dion’s Pizza offers behind-the-scenes tours and even a chance to contribute to making a pizza!
These tours not only show steps to make a pizza from beginning to end, but also include a pizza-focused workbook with educational activities. There are two different workbooks based on age group so all the kids in our group were entertained. Kids learn food groups, match concepts, safety in the kitchen and teamwork.
Some of the tour highlights included visiting the walk-in freezer, seeing the massive dough machine, pretending to take orders at the drive thru window and watching the dough throwing up close and personal! Each kid got a few pepperonis to add to the pizza as well as taste test — another favorite moment.
Following the tour, your group will eat your delicious pizza with drinks in the dining room. Eating something you had a hand in making just tastes better!
